Over the past decade I have been ‘unschooling’ my Math program & have witnessed how children LOVE & THRIVE in Mathematics when it’s taught through Inquiry-Based Learning. My Holistic approach to Math includes, child-led experiential learning, mindset, emotional intelligence, critical thinking skills & embedding the big ideas of Math rather than teaching siloed concepts through a textbook.

I have spent thousands of hours on courses, research, unlearning, relearning & actually implementing this into my practice. I have first hand experience how this process can feel overwhelming & time consuming, that’s why I have streamlined the entire process for you so that you can create a unique, credible & comprehensive Holistic Math Program that aligns with YOUR vision, values & environment.

Coaching & Lesson Modalities

Every month incorporates some of the following concepts: the big ideas, making math visual, critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, mindset, number fluency, fractions, spatial sense, measurement, geometry, money, algebra, patterning, data & how to embed other subjects.

Holistic Math Mentorship Program YEAR FLOW 2023-2024

AUGUST: Your vision & mindset. We will dive into what Holistic Math is, what that looks like, sounds like & feels like on a daily basis. You will be prepared to teach with quality resources, confidence, ease & flow!

SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, NOVEMBER: Math all around us, in the fall, in the kitchen & entrepreneurship. We will learn how to weave Math through daily activities, making organic snacks & how to maximize these Math moments. We will explore entrepreneurship for kids, financial awareness, creativity & mindset.

DECEMBER, JANUARY, FEBRUARY: Math in the Winter & at the Urban & Rural Homestead. As we prepare for the winter, we will explore how to bring Math outside through authentic activities & dive into quality strategic collaborative, critical thinking Math games. Whether you live on a farm or in the city over the next few months we will explore different math concepts while building practical life skill (sewing, canning, natural products, tree tapping & more).

MARCH, APRIL, MAY: Seed Starting, Math in the Garden & the Workshop. It's time to start thinking about our seedlings to harvest. From garden planning to rain collection we will explore different ways to incorporate Math in the garden & in Mother Nature. You don't need any experience to be able to teach children how to build. You will learn different ways for kids to explore tools & Math in the workshop.

JUNE & JULY: Math in the Forest & Summer. Learning is continuous throughout all seasons. We will plan and explore how to leverage summer activities into playful, rich math discussions. July will be a Reflection & Connection Call. This will be our time to reflect, set goals & purposefully prepare to feel confident to teach Math with ease & flow as we head into a new school year.

*In August, there will only be two coaching calls the last two weeks of the month.

*In December, there will only be two coaching calls the first two weeks of the month.

The potency of this program is in the coaching calls to answer YOUR specific questions, help you purposefully plan & maximize Math moments for your children’s unique inquiries.

FAQ for Holistic Math Mentorship Program

    • Alternative/Montessori/Nature-Rooted Schools & Educators who want to teach math through Inquiry-Based Learning with CONFIDENCE. If you want to build a credible comprehensive Holistic Math program that meets the vision and values of your school environment.

    • Homeschoolers/Unschoolers who want to up-level their practice & learn how to seamlessly weave Mathematics through their children's interests & practical life skills.

  • Live coaching calls will start the second last week of August 2023. All calls will be recorded if you miss the live call. There will be one professional development call on a specific topic (see coaching modalities). There will be two ‘office hours’ coaching calls where I will help you purposefully plan and answer your specific questions for your planning & children. There are 3 coaching calls total per month (at night during the week).

  • We will be focusing on Kindergarten to grade 5.

  • Unschooling is simply fusing living & learning together. We don't live our lives in compartmentalized subjects that’s why I have architected how we can seamlessly weave mathematics through LIVING while learning life skills developing critical thinking rather than passive task completion! I expand your vision of what math can be.
